What a gem of a find this hotel was. Perfect location for Forbidden City/Tiananmen Square. Plenty of places to eat locally and very cheap but tasty. If you don't want to walk far, Taxis are in abundance and the metro system is a few minutes away to go and explore further afield. The bedroom had a huge comfortable bed and good shower/toilet facilities. The hotel provided lots of bottles of fresh water every day which saved you having to buy it outside. Finally, the staff were super friendly and spoke some English and couldn't do enough for you....Maya was a star with her friendly, kind and helpful nature, what a talent to have working there.
A fantastic and cute little hotel with some of the best staff I have seen in my years of travel. The staff make you feel like a 5 star guest but are friendly and helpful at the same time. We stayed here for 1 week with young kids and they absolutely loved it. Location is amazing and the experience of a living in a Hutong is out of this world. Great value for money. Book without hesitation.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Happy Dragon City Culture hotel. The staff were super friendly and attentive. A big shout-out to Mia, who helped us locate a mobile phone we left behind in Xi'an and arranged for it to be delivered to Beijing. She also spent time with our young daughter and made her stay very special.
