This hotel was very central to everything we wanted to do and close to public transportation options, some things were walking distance like Yasaka Shrine. Our room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. The area is peaceful with no street noise whatsoever. We’d stay here again if we visit Kyoto again someday.
We had a great stay at this hotel. It’s in a perfect location where everything is walking distance. Although it does get a bit hot, we were able to open the windows and adjust the temperature in our room as needed. The showers have heaters, they provide you with in room slippers, and pajamas. Overall it was perfect for our 3 day trip to Kyoto. We had 0 issues. I would definitely recommend this to any of my friends or family traveling to Kyoto!
Do not recommend. We were initially planning on staying in this hotel for 4 nights. When we got to the room on the 3rd floor facing the street, we realized we couldn’t even crack a window open or control the room’s air-conditioner. Room looked overall deteriorated / worn down. Pictures are incredibly deceiving. Given I am a bit claustrophobic, and we could not control the room temp, we opted for staying at a different hotel altogether. Special mention to the front desk staff who were understanding of this awkward situation and still helped us with arranging taxis / etc.
