Great traditional ryokan experience even by Japanese standards. We had a mixed group and both had the best time. The course meal for dinner was legitimately one of the best I’ve had in a ryokan. Great mix of traditional Japanese but also easy to enjoy even for western palate. They have shuttles for pick up and to the train station. There’s a bus stop only 3 min walk as well to the snow money park.

Great ryokan - very traditional and comfortable. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Delicious food. The waiters at dinner were lovely and they were also great with dietary requirements. We enjoyed the private dining rooms which offered privacy, but at the same time you could hear the other dining rooms which meant the dinner felt lively. The main outdoor bath is simply stunning - they swap the men’s and the women’s bath areas daily so everyone can experience the main bath.

A traditional step back in time with incredibly friendly staff and service. The food is beyond delicious and the Onsen is really spectacular.
