Pros: Spectular location. Excellent restaurant selection nearly. Gorgeous interiors and rooms that are ridiculously spacious by Japan standards. The staff are lively and try their hardest with the language barrier, which I appreciate. Cons: The windows on the bottom floor don't open so it feels a little enclosed on the bottom floor. Bring your own snacks and bananas as conbinis are on the other side of the island.
Everything is perfect. Rooms, staff and atmosphere are superb. I have stayed in both Azumi and Yubune and give them both 5 stars. The whole experience from the ferry ride, the warm welcome and the local ambience make this one of my favourite places in Japan. See you again soon😍
We went here in Feb 2025 to use the sento after biking. Staff were friendly and the baths are lovely and extremely clean with the added bonus of a sauna and cold bath as well. For anyone wondering about tattoos (I have some small ones)- they are OK with non-Japanese style tattoos- and the lady at the desk understood when I asked and said that was fine! (though if you have a massive piece it’d be worth politely checking).
