Yunohana Resort Suisen

My stay at Kyo Yunohana Resort Suisen was phenomenal! The private onsen and individual bath in our room were absolutely stunning, creating a serene and luxurious experience. However, while the kaiseki presentation was a visual masterpiece, the flavors didn’t quite suit my palate, falling short of my expectations.

I’ve booked this more than 5 months ago and was looking forward to going there so much, had my expectations quite high but the service they gave was way beyond anything I had imagined. They really make you feel like royalty. We made use of the shuttle bus service that they provide, it was about 15 min from Kameoka station. When you arrive at the hotel you can already feel the peaceful atmosphere surrounding you, there’s no noise, surrounded by a beautiful garden with lots of trees. You leave your shoes behind at the entrance only to put them back on when you leave. Great break between the hustle of the cities like Osaka and Kyoto. They greeted us with a delicious matcha tea and a mochi while we were checking in. After the check in procedure they bring you to the room and wow, it’s so spacious and well decorated. The view is phenomenal, you see the onsen and the trees and it’s so beautiful. You’re also given Japanese traditional clothes, and you can even choose from different colours and sizes. Dinner was a really good experience, everything was so beautiful and absolutely delicious, it felt a bit too formal but it was definitely worth it. Special thanks to lady Hashimoto that served us and explained with details the order/ingredients of every dish we had. Breakfast was also delicious, the food here is really abundant so you won’t starve. They also keep a lot of complimentary treats/tea/drinks in the room which was very nice. I’ve left this place feeling nothing but joy, it was really an amazing experience. We stayed only for a day, next time will definitely stay longer. Many thanks to the staff that treated us so well.

Absolutely gorgeous. Loved the place! Highlight of our Japanese trip. Sooo pretty and relaxing after the hustle and bustle of Tokyo. So easy to get to as well compared to other ryokans. Just a short train away from Kyoto and they pick you up at the station and drop you back to the station! Such a great service. Also earlier check in than many ryokans which is so lovely. The breakfast and dinner in the private dining room was also such a treat. I did a lot of research before picking this place. Many ryokans do not have the bigger onsens available for private booking which means that if you're a couple, you need to split up which is not as nice. Splurge for the private in room onsen too if you can.
