I was able to stay here comfortably with my dog, and there are plenty of dog runs around the property to choose from. I’ve stayed here twice — the first time in a large room, which was perfect since I have a bigger dog. The second time, the room was newly renovated but much smaller. If you have a larger dog, I recommend asking for one of the bigger rooms if you can!
It's located in a villa-like area, in a very quiet environment. The lobby is spacious and the courtyard is a dog run. There are also dog runs and walking paths around the hotel, making it a great environment for dogs. Unfortunately, there were no welcome drinks available at check-in, and the Shinshu miso teriyaki (chicken) at the half-buffet dinner ran out midway through, meaning some family members couldn't eat it. Drinks are charged separately, and breakfast was crowded, perhaps because it didn't have a set time, so we had to wait for over 30 minutes. There is only an indoor circulating bath, but since it is a hot spring, it would have been nice if there was an open-air bath or something. Despite what I've said, overall I think it's not a bad hotel for dog lovers.
If you look at reviews from July 2025 onwards, you'll see that the rating level has dropped dramatically no matter which site you look at. While staff reductions such as all communication being done via guests' smartphones (although this may have been the case even before this) and the change to a half-buffet menu from July are likely beneficial for the hotel, they are of no benefit to guests at all. If you're considering booking based on reviews and ratings, I would recommend not using previous information as a reference. However, if you're looking for a hotel that's cool even in the summer and where your dog can have fun, it's a very good environment. Considering the price, however, the lack of facilities for humans, such as food (especially harsh), baths, etc., is noticeable.
