Zalanta Resort at the Village

Zalanta was the perfect place for my family’s Lake Tahoe stay with 2 young children 9 and 5 years old. This was our first vacation to Lake Tahoe and while booking I was not certain which part of the lake to stay at that would be perfect for kids. Zalanta’s location did not disappoint, everything was within walking distance! The pool and hot tub are well kept and very clean and spacious rooms! I highly recommend the Heavenly Gondola plus all the activities for young children. We spent ~5.5 hours with 2 kids with all the activities at the top of the mountain. I originally didn’t purchase the extra activities because of the price but in the end it was one of our favorite adventure together! Zalanta also offered discounted tickets for the Magic Fusion show which was great for our kids and only a 5 minute walk from the hotel! I also recommend a day at Emerald bay which the hotel provided information on the Camp Richardson Shuttle Service. I’m so glad we did the shuttle with kids to avoid the awful parking. I want to thank Toni at the front desk for making my family’s vacation incredible!

We came off season to attend the ACC celebrating golf tournamnet. This place is false marketing Pictures on the website are not what the place actually looks like. Definitely not worth the price!! I was told that we were walking distance to the Edgewood golf course. That was not true! Our balcony overlooked the 4 lane highway. For the price of the rooms they should be much nicer than they were, the outdoor furniture was aluminum tables and chairs! For being off season, the price of the hotel should be much cheaper than it is. Totally would not recommend this place for off season.

Your Booking Is Not Safe – They Can Cancel Anytime! We received a phone call from Zalanta Resort while we were already on our way to Lake Tahoe, informing us that our reservation had been canceled due to overbooking and that they had no available rooms. We had booked through Booking.com and had received confirmation from both Booking.com and the hotel itself. The hotel's attitude was shockingly rude, with zero empathy and no attempt to resolve the situation. They refused to take responsibility for the refund, simply telling us to handle it with the booking platform. We had to scramble to find last-minute accommodation since we were essentially left on the street with our children. We managed to find a hotel for that night, but we had originally booked two nights, and due to the circumstances, we only stayed for one. When we tried to leave a review on Booking.com, we discovered that since the reservation was canceled, we were not allowed to share our experience there. Upon checking Google, we realized we were not the first ones to experience this kind of last-minute cancellation.There are other reviews with the same issue we experienced. After checking Google, we saw that we were not the first ones this had happened to. So, this is just a warning to future guests: even with written confirmation, YOUR RESERVATION IS NOT GUARANTEED. They have no problem canceling on the very day of your arrival, leaving you stranded. We are reasonable travelers, and we understand that hotels may have issues with comfort, noise, food, or other inconveniences. However, what this hotel did to us is completely unacceptable.
