Zamek Gniew Hotel Rycerski

The hotel is located in the impressive former castle of Mewe built by the Teutonic Order (reception/indoor pool with whirl pool / fitness area), a Baroque palace overlooking the Wisla river and a modern part with nice comfy rooms and a restaurant. The town is small and quiet but nice to have a stroll and buy some things in local stores around the rynek (market square). There is a church and some well-preserved houses in walking distance. Highly recommended to stay in tis hotel!

I had a pleasant stay at the hotel, especially enjoying its excellent location and the range of fun activities, like the medieval fair activity our work had booked. The rooms were comfortable, and the spa and pool added a nice touch to the experience. However, the service could have been more attentive, and there were quite a few spiders outside the windows. Overall, a good place for a unique getaway.

We didn’t stay overnight but had a quick visit to take pictures. This is a historical site that has been turned into a spa and hotel. Maybe we’ll come back to stay one day, but business must be good as the two ladies in the reception weren’t enthusiastic about talking to us or recommending any services. In fact, they seemed more interested in talking to each other. Let’s ignore that though as it’s a pretty beautiful to visit.
