Zannos Melathron

Me and my fiance traveled to Santorini for four days and we were looking for a remote hotel. Set in the pastoral (and extrenely beautiful) village of Pyrgos, Zannos Melathton offers incredible views, open air balconies and immaculate infinity pools. Upon arrival we were informed that we had been upgraded to one of the luxury suites. The room was roomy and very stylish, with a modern Greek vibe that was very pleasant. We were served by Bessy and Strotos and they were extremely kind and attentive. We received breakfest to our room every day, the food was quite tasty and there was enough of it. It is importabt to note that you will need to climb up and down the hill of Pyrgos to get anywhere from and to the hotel, but we're young and enjoyed our time very much. Peaceful, beautiful and VERY clean. Recommended.

Right from our arrival, we were greeted at the town square by our host Stratos who immediately took our luggage to our room. The service was as exceptional as the view we had from our room. The room itself was old fashioned and adorable. The staff from the hotel were really eager in keeping our room fresh and clean every day. We had 2 pools accessible to us, one was directly next to our room and the other one had an exceptional panoramic view of the city. The site itself had a really nice historical aspect, we could have spent several days trying to discover all the restaurants that were a slight walk but nonetheless, accessible. The location of the site was also really useful because we were only 15 minutes away from any beaches on the island and from all the other touristic places but we had the calm and the security of the hotel at night. Every morning our exceptional host, Stratos, was making us a delicious breakfast with eggs, vegetables, yogurt, meat, a variety of pastries and of course coffee (the breakfast was free and filling). Their attention to detail was extremely appreciated and made our trip even more enjoyable. Stratos gave us several tips in order to enjoy even more our vacation in Santorini!! Our needs were more than met, and gave us the perfect combination of privacy yet attentiveness. Our trip wouldn’t have been the same without this place!! 110% recommend this place!!!

We booked Zannos Melathron expecting a boutique stay in Santorini. What we got instead was a completely closed, deserted hotel with not a single staff member or guest in sight. The building was locked, dark, and clearly not in operation. Upon arrival, after finding the hotel abandoned, we spent some time trying to call them. Eventually, we were redirected to a completely different, dusty apartment elsewhere – without reception, no real amenities, and definitely not equivalent to what we paid for. It was passed off as an “upgrade.” Let me be clear: it was not. The apartment had no breakfast buffet (despite being included), just some home delivered soggy toast, some egg and some yoghurt (all delayed by 75 minutes, so we just waited in our room for nothing), no services, and a visible lack of hygiene. We spent hours on the phone with Booking, trying to get reallocated or refunded, and eventually had to abandon the property ourselves and book a proper hotel out of our own pocket to salvage what was left of our trip. This listing should not be active. It is deceptive, and guests are being misled and left stranded. Avoid at all costs.
