Zante Royal Resort

It was a lovely holiday. Great staff. The food was very good. Lots of choice, and plenty of it. The hotel is a bit run down... could use a lick of paint. It probably looked amazing 10 years ago. But it was clean, and our room was great. For a cheap hotel, very good. The walk to the beach is down a lot of steps, so be prepared for that. The shop stocked all of the essentials, and the lady running it was very helpful. Car hire at the top of the hill on the main road....inside a shop. Cheap and cheerful cars. A bit wrecked, but ours got us around the island fine, and it had AC.

Don’t go to this hotel, unless you want to ruin your vacation! That is what this 4 stars resort offers: 1. Rooms are old fashioned, furniture is old since this hotel was built, no renovation is made for decades. The rooms are dirty, mouldy smell is present all the time. 2. Cleaning consists only in bathroom towels. Bed sheets are replaced once a week. 3. No wifi in rooms, and rarely you can connect in lounge. 4. Food is in the lowest quality they can get. 5. All inclusive drinks consist in beer and fruit juices that taste mostly like water. No drinks, no water in the room minibar. After 11:00 PM you have to pay. 6. Location is good, quiet place but away from the center of the island. You need to call a taxi if you want to go out which costs about 25€ one way. 7. No entertainment activities for adults and children.

filthy.filthy filthy. I booked my vacation through VEA TRAVEL ALBANIA. My family and I had a completely different experience than what was advertised. Based on the photos and descriptions provided on their website, we were led to believe that we would be staying at a high-quality, comfortable 4-star resort. Unfortunately, our experience was far from this: This resort was banked owned. • Hotel Condition: The hotel needed to be more modern and maintained. The air conditioner and refrigirator in our room was not working, making it difficult to stay indoors comfortably and having a cold drink. • Cleanliness Issues: The entire hotel was dirty,filthy, and the room was in unacceptable condition. The bathtub was dangerously slippery, which caused my son to fall (see attached picture). The overall hotel assets were filthy, and the resort had a lousy odor. • Health Concerns: My son suffered from food poisoning during our stay, leading to severe vomiting and diarrhea. We were forced to stay in our room for two days to care for him, significantly impacting our vacation. • Bed Bugs: My other son also experienced bed bug bites, further confirming the resort's poor hygiene standards. • Beach Access Misrepresentation: The resort advertised beach access within 3 minutes via a golf cart service. However, the golf cart was no were to be found and leaving us stranded and unable to enjoy the beach as promised. • Lack of Support: When I requested to change hotels or be taken back due to the appalling conditions, I was informed that no alternatives were available, as we were on an island with no other options. We were effectively trapped in a situation that made us feel horrible. This experience not only ruined our vacation but also posed severe risks to my family’s health and well-being. The resort was not at all what was promised, and I firmly believe we were misled by false advertising. I have attached pictures to prove our conditions.
