Zanziblue

We stayed at Zanziblue in July 2025 after our big Safari trip and were genuinely impressed with the overall quality of the experience! Our room was clean, modern, and had a large balcony with a direct ocean view that we could enjoy 24/7. The beach is expansive and quiet, ideal for swimming and some long walks. The location right on the water made it easy to go for a swim whenever we wanted. Service was very attentive and all the personnel were really friendly and caring. They surprised us with a romantic breakfast delivered into our room to celebrate our wedding anniversary! The kitchen was a standout — every dish we tried was refined, well-balanced and delicious. Not far off from what you'd expect at a Michelin-starred restaurant. The cocktails and wine selection were also amazing — we really enjoyed the sunset roof top bar and spent every evening there. We would highly recommend Zanziblue to anyone looking for a high-end, relaxing beach stay in Zanzibar.

We had a wonderful stay at Zanziblue. The hotel is beautifully located right by the beach, in a calm and quiet area that’s perfect for relaxing. The staff are incredibly friendly and service-minded, always making sure you feel welcome and well taken care of. The breakfast buffet, served in the main building on the second floor, is great with a beautiful view of the ocean and garden. You’ll find fresh fruits, bread, and a selection of hot dishes. We stayed in a Deluxe room with ocean view, which had direct access to the pool area and the beach from our terrace. The bed was comfortable, and the pretty small but nice room was cleaned upon request, appreciated from a sustainability viewpoint. The tide in Matemwe can make it challenging to swim in the ocean during low tide, as the water recedes quite far. However, the beach itself is beautiful, long, quiet, and perfect for walks. You can stroll for kilometres in both directions, enjoying the peaceful surroundings and stunning views. Overall, we really enjoyed our time here. Zanziblue is a perfect place to unwind and enjoy the beauty of Zanzibar in a peaceful and well-cared-for environment. Highly recommended!

This was an amazing hotel right on the beach! It was perfect. The staff was wonderful and the restaurant staff friendly. Excursions were arranged for a fair price and included transportation. The room was clean and we could walk out right to the beach. I am so glad to have selected this type of room! The beach in front of the hotel had minimal bother from beach boy sellers. We had a low tide walks with a guide they provided for free. It was so fun! The A/C worked nicely and the WiFi worked in rooms and throughout the property. The ambience was quiet, classy and elegant. Perfect for a honeymoon! I didn’t want to leave!
