Zen Hotel Versilia

This hotel is great! The pool with it's roof top views is amazing. Close to the beach which is lovely. The service is immpecable. There is a lady on reception (short blond hair) that cannot do enough for you, she recommended places to visit, organised a trip for us and printed all the info including maps all in English, gave us recommendations for wine and was able to organise us a room to rent as we had a very late flight home. The service from the waiting staff was amazing also. They made our stay. The only bad thing is some of the food. The breakfast buffet was good, the evening buffet, 1st course and dessert also were good but the main was not so, the meat could be very dry and the fish very tasteless. The portions are also a bit big. The wine recommendations from the one of the waiting staff were always spot on, and we did drink enough of it! 😁

Overall the hotel was clean but without any charm. Staff was not very friendly and the bed was very uncomfortable and the hair dryer super old so it turned off every time after 30 seconds. In addition we rented bikes at the hotel and received two bikes super dirty, full of oil. The lights of both bikes were not working as well. When we told the staff all they did was give us some paper towels and alcohol to clean the bikes ourselves. Although during checkout the next day we mentioned all of this again we had to pay in anycase the full price for the bikes.

Food was good, restaurant staff was kind and professional. But…. We lived in a room which supposed to be a suit but smells cesspool all the way so your room welcomes you with a poo… Hotel management runs after small accounts which brings “1” star! Charged the check out day an extra bicycle rent…While we were expecting a favor for our non-ordered train tickets. Well done guys! Micro management at its best instead of a customer satisfaction. Not reflects the Italian hospitality and mentality at all… We had cosy experiences with the local beaches and bars…
