Zest Boutique Hotel

This hotel is small, stylish and means you are so well looked after. We stayed for quite a few nights whilst in Cape Town. The interior is very stylish, including the small courtyard. The rooms are great. During the day it’s a very short walk down to the waterfront. At night, and for the airport transfers, the staff can arrange for ten driver Peter to help you, and he was really lovely, always able to bring us back after dinner. The breakfast was great, with a continental buffet and then cooked options off the menu. The staff went above and beyond to be helpful for us. They kindly held onto our spare luggage for a few days when we went elsewhere and then returned. A great boutique hotel option if you want to be central in Cape Town

Manager Natale and staff very welcoming and helpful. Manager gave us a thorough orientation and assisted us in contacting a day tour. Breakfast was excellent and afternoon cake was a delicious bonus. Rooms quiet and spacious. We had special treats in our room and flowers and wine for our anniversary. Car service convenient ($) and timely.

BEWARE THEFT: I unfortunately had a number of items go missing from this hotel. An expensive shirt in the laundry (they couldn’t not care less and still insisted on charging full price!!). Most worryingly is the smaller items went missing from the room safe the day before checkout! These included some decent sunglasses (never returned), a compact camera and my passport (all pocket sized)! I told the hotel I was certain the items were stolen from the safe and would be contacting the police. On my return to the hotel later that day having cancelled my passport and missed my flight I was told the items had mysteriously been found. (They didn’t bother to ring me) The cleaner had apparently made the bed over them and later found them!!! Eh?!! If you believe that you believe anything. I scoured that room including the bed! Credit for getting some of the items back but this ruined my trip!!! The safes are temperamental - staff have access - be VERY careful! UPDATE: Even more disappointed that this hotel has decided to out and out lie in response to my review: 1) ALL items went missing from the safe (only the smaller ones though - presumably as they would not show up on CCTV in a pocket). The hotel even had to unlock the safe for me at one point when the batteries ran out on it and it would not open. Totally untrue to say it was not used and they know it! 2) The theft was reported before checkout (morning) and occurred the day before - absolutely someone entered the room because the room was cleaned! I even returned to the hotel that evening to get the retrieved items after my colleague had left to get the flight! 3) I had to stay another 3 days in another hotel to await a replacement travel document - this hotel is fully aware of this. 4) The cleaner was very much unsupervised when she was sent up to "find" the items per the hotel's manager's very words. 5) The shirt logo dyes the white shirt blue unless washed at 30 degrees, I suspect this happened and they threw it away hoping I would not notice.
