The inn is located in Herzogsreut, surrounded by forests and mountains. The breakfast is delicious and extensive, and the landlady caters to guests' wishes and fulfills them, which is quite remarkable. Dinner is a three-course menu and was always delicious, with good, home-style cooking and not fancy food. Highly recommended; if I were staying there, I would eat at this inn more often. The rooms are very tastefully and lovingly furnished. The view from the balcony is beautiful; you can see the forests and mountains right in front of you; it's simply idyllic. They even offer a piece of homemade cake with your coffee if you want it, after the sauna or infrared cabin, or after a short excursion. The landlady also gives good tips for excursions and explains the route clearly with maps. We would like to thank the Wurm family again for the excellent hospitality and accommodations in their home. We are already looking forward to being guests at their home again in the distant future.
Yes, I highly recommend the Gasthof zur neuen Post. The hosts are very friendly, the food is excellent and delicious. It's also very quiet. We will stay there again.
We were there for four days for a family vacation with half board. We found the Wurm family to be very hospitable and accommodating. The rooms were clean and tidy, cleaned daily, and fresh towels were provided. There was an outdoor pool with loungers and saunas, as well as infrared and steam saunas. A lounge with drinks and free cakes were offered daily. If there was one complaint, it would be the breakfast. You had to get there early, otherwise, rolls would run out, as other vacationers had helped themselves to plenty to pack rolls for the road. Otherwise, Mrs. Wurm made every effort to please everyone, and there was a variety every day. You could choose your dinner at breakfast; you could choose between three dishes, including vegetarian options. The food was quite upscale for half board, such as roast beef with onions or pork knuckle, with sauces made with fresh chanterelles; there was something for everyone. The starter was soup, and the dessert was simple, but not bad. The place is very quiet, and we had to do a lot of Googling to find nearby activities, but everything is within a 30-minute drive. All in all, we can recommend this country inn with a clear conscience. 👍
