Åkerblads Gästgiveri Hotell Spa

Only had dinner, did not stay in the beautiful hotel. Staff (Jolene) , service, food, view and atmosphere were simply outstanding. We had a very, very nice time. My wife had the best vegetarian dishes since she stopped eating meat many years ago. But a great selection for omnivores like me as well. Recommend!

Beautiful village and great stay, most of it. Some people in the staff was great. Others a disaster who really should not work within service. Would I have known, I would not have chosen this place. Example: My robe was wet so I needed a dry one for the spa. I asked politely and friendly. A young woman with long brown hair (who otherwise only approached my husband and never even looked at me) replied with a strong no. Nothing else. Just NO. Behind her there was an open room full of folded dry robes. I found this disturbed. I would have happily paid extra for a dry robe. I was cold and wet and felt unwelcome. This is not what I bargained for during a romantic stay over midsummer’s. There are other examples, only concerning the shocking service level. Reading the other reviews I find that this is a big problem for this establishment. Everything else more than great.

The place is beautiful and charming, with a marvelous view of the lake. We were pleased when we pulled up. The rooms were good and the spa beautiful. But… Breakfast was alright but the dinner food was flavorless, undercooked and plain boring. Wouldn’t even want to use the word mediocre to describe it. One of the three dishes we ordered was alright but the rest was just bad. We expected a nice meal but it ended up being like cafeteria food. Great disappointment. We’ll have to go down to Rattvik for other meals.
