Regency Palace

Regency Palace This is my second year in a row staying at the hotel, and the second time was even better than the first. The food was great, both at breakfast and dinner. The morning restaurant staff were a bit of a mixed experience, some were cheerful and helpful, while others seemed less so. The chef at the egg station wasn’t particularly welcoming, even though I wasn’t asking for eggs but simply some chocolate for the ready-made pancakes. One person who truly stood out, however, was Fadi from the rooftop pool area. He was by far my favorite and always friendly, helpful, and ready for a chat when needed. The level of service he gave me during my first stay was exceptional, and probably the main reason I chose to come back this year. Before rebooking at Regency, I tried out a few other 5-star hotels, which were also good, but there’s something special about that rooftop pool and its view that keeps drawing me back. The reception staff were also helpful and welcoming. Of course, their role is more limited when it comes to personal interaction, but within the scope of their work they provided a sufficient and pleasant service. Unfortunately, this time around Fadi wasn’t present during the day, which was a bit disappointing, though I was lucky to catch a quick hello from his always smiling face during his evening shift before I left. There’s also a well equipped gym right next to the pool area, with a friendly trainer available. That’s more than enough words from me for now. Thank you once again, and I’ll most likely be back in the future.

This is not a 5-star hotel maybe it used to be in the 80s. The facilities are old and clearly need renovations. I asked for my room to be changed 3 times because all of them were smelling like cigarettes. Pool was closed. Location was fantastic though to go around city center for meetings.

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. I’m visiting from America and my fiancée and I had dinner and drinks at Trader Vic’s and our total bill came to 58 JD. We placed 60 JD in the bill folder and handed it to the waiter. A few minutes later, he returned claiming there was no money in the folder. We were stunned. We immediately asked for the manager, but instead of resolving the situation fairly, the manager backed the waiter without question. The table next to us even told the manager they saw us place money in the folder. We were forced to pay another 60 JD just to leave the restaurant. Blatant scam, and it’s clear they will take advantage of anyone they think they can. There was no apology, no investigation, and no accountability. Avoid this place at all costs. Dishonest staff and zero integrity. I will be contacting the general manager to further discuss the disgusting behavior that occurred tonight.
