Absolutely gorgeous property and lovely rooms. I really enjoyed my stay; after checkout, I reviewed my folio and was surprised to see more than 12 minibar charges — and for items that were not even present in the room during my stay. It’s been a nightmare to have these erroneous charges removed following my departure - multiple calls, emails, etc etc. Would unfortunately not recommend as a result.
I do not recommend this hotel. We were charged almost $200 for a bed sheet due to a makeup smudge. I travel often and have never experienced this before at another hotel. In our large group, 5 out of 7 rooms were charged for bed sheet, pillowcase, and/or duvet replacements. All different amounts upwards of $300 USD. We filed a complaint with the general manager, who was no help at all. Such a shame because this hotel is set in a nice location and the staff is lovely.
I’m going to start off with the negative because that’s the reason I’m never staying here again. It was a big group of us and at checkout we had so many charges added to our credit cards. I was charged items from the mini bar and extra eggs at breakfast. Even though it was not much its about the ethics and it’s sad that all of our 7 rooms got charged something. The big charges came apparently from damages to the rooms. I got charged $800 pesos for a stain on the sheets that I never saw and I’m pretty sure we didn’t do. All other rooms were charged way more from makeup stains and apparently blood stains. It was ridiculous especially because every single room got these charges. I would understand maybe one or two but every single room got charged. At this point I believe they took advantage and just charged whatever they felt including those small little charge items that we didn’t not get. I really suggest that you do not charge anything to the room and that you close out everything and just leave cash tip. I also recommend that you ask for a room check when you check in and room check when you leave the room and please take pictures too. My charger was also stolen from the room and again I know it was something small but I still feel that they shouldn’t touch anything in our room. I really hate the lack of transparency and how it seemed like they took advantage of the situation. Even though the rooms were not the best I understood and appreciated the art deco vibe. I loved the location and breakfast was good. Drinks at the bottom bar were great and the bar tenders were awesome specially Alex and Alvaro. Really hate that we had to end our amazing trip on a wrong note due to all these ridiculous charges! I will leave a photo of the sheet stains that I’m being charged $800 pesos for.
