Holiday Inn Express Veracruz Boca del Rio by IHG

An amazing hotel. We stayed here for 3 nights. The hotel is right next to the beach and 2 malls. You can grab a taxi to go into Veracruz city as well! The pools were nice, and the restaurant in the hotel was also very good! The room was comfortable and clean, and the workers were very friendly. Only downside is the gym had NO air-conditioning, and you need to book a time to use the gym. Would recommend you stay here!

I can imagine when it opened it was lovely. It needs a refurbishment. Rooms were decent, although there was some mold on the ceiling of our bathroom. We booked a room for 4 people and got 2 towels and coffee for 2. Had to ask for more. The pool was large, but a few tiles are coming off the floor and sides. The hot tub was dirty as wasn't cleaned the whole time we were there. The systems they have in place for things like breakfast are so out of date. We booked rooms with breakfast included and had to produce vouchers at breakfast time. Otherwise, they were going to charge us. Why not just look on a room number sheet or computer?

Staff was welcoming for the most part. The hotel was ok for the price. Not sure why out room had a stench but we were told Hotel was at capacity. Restaurant closes early. Room service had little to no options. Night staff was very short and unpleasant. Food and bar service was available but over priced. Pool side bar only open on weekend. Some staff was very attentive others need a class in manners. Pool water was hot, good for night swims but closes at 9 EVERY NIGHT. During day too hot to enjoy. Calling it Dirty is being nice. Having to pay for everything u order cause room credit is unavailable was a 1st for me. Who takes CC to the pool? Valet and cleaning staff always above and beyond for us. Food was ok just overpriced. Fruit was fresh. Drinks available but priced and not enough alcohol for the price.
