If Google Maps has the location of this hotel on the west side of Dongsi St., then the location is wrong. (it has been wrong for a couple years). This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. I recommend to get the deluxe room. Expect maintenance issues such as this time with the door handle completely broke. Shower that drains very slow, etc. I like that it is a quiet and peaceful place. The air conditioner works great. Breakfast is good with both Chinese and western choices. Use a translation app to communicate with the staff. The walk to Dongsi station is about 5-10 minutes. Use exit C from the subway station to avoid having to cross the busy street. Hopefully Google will correct the Google Maps location of this place soon.
Wonderful hotel, small and in need of some maintenance, but very lovely. Staff knew English and were both friendly and helpful, breakfast was tasty, and they changed it daily too, so you would get some variation every day. The rooms have nice tea, and air-conditioning that isn't too noisy. It's very traditional in its decoration which gives it a very cozy and authentic atmosphere, and there's also a courtyard where you can sit and relax. Anyone looking to stay here should be aware that it's located in a "hutong" though. Hutong is a typ of alley, this isn't bad. Hutongs are part of old Beijing, and you'll find them everywhere. It's just means that taxis might not want to drive you in here because the road is narrow and uneven. And it might be tricky to find your way the first time you get here. But there's very little noise in here, and it's quite nice to take a small walk though this historic part of Beijing every day and see regular people going about their lives.
It's a very traditional hotel, so it is possible that the room is really small. So if you travel with a lot of luggage it's not that comfortable. Besides that the room was clean and had a good equipment. The hotel is in a small side road and placed in one of the older quarters, a hutong, in beijing. Some restaurants are pretty near by and good. The breakfast is OK. Only the coffee was not very good...
