Pestana Quinta do Arco Nature & Rose Garden Hotel

Lovely little gated hotel with cabins spread across the lot. It’s a great place to lounge with beautiful grounds, rose garden, two pools and a bar area with board games. The room itself was okay, nicely designed but had humidity issues/smelled damp.

Keep in mind I am leaving the review for staying in a Villa- not an updated room. The villas are NOT 4 star, not even close. In severe need of an update and just overall clean haul. Musty smell and the bed is a very old spring mattress where you can feel all of the springs just on a bed Frame pushed against the wall (no headboard or anything). It really was not a pleasant room. I am sure the more updated ones are better. Now allowed to put toilet paper in the toilet- must put it in the small trashcan in bathroom- so unfortunate for you if you have to go #2! The grounds were nice to see, very jungle like emphasizing the north side of the mountain- and there is a restaurant across the street (make reservations! They have very few staff so don’t just walk in). And there is a lovely rooster that woke us up at 4 am, 5 am,6 am etc there so I hope it doesn’t wake you like it did us each hour. The staff was very nice but we would not stay here again overall.

Not a 4 star hotel, rooms full of mould, smells bad inside because of it, no windows you can keep open. My husband start having breathing difficulties because of it We stayed 7 nights, it’s not worth the money. You ll get the same plain basic breakfast every morning, not to many options and nothing special for 150£ a night. Rooms are cleaned superficially, towels dirty and strapped. You can t relax in the afternoon after a hike or whatever, as you can hear the cleaning ladies shouting to each other . Definitely don’t recommend. Also the restaurant they have and they recommend for dinner NOT WORTH, looked to me like a tourist trap, very expensive for what they offer and no taste at alll
