Sotetsu Grand Fresa Taipei Ximen

The hotel location is excellent — conveniently situated above the train station, making it very easy to access. There are plenty of food options around, so finding meals was never a problem. The room was spacious and new, which is a great plus compared to many other hotels I’ve stayed in. Housekeeping was also impressive — the room was always clean and well maintained. I also appreciate the thoughtful touches provided by the hotel, such as mosquito repellent stickers, clothes stain remover , alcohol wipe and mouth rinse etc. These small details truly show the hotel has a warm heart and cares for guests’ comfort. Most importantly, the front counter and room service staff were very helpful , friendly and professional throughout my stay. Their warm and efficient service made a big difference. We had a wonderful stay.

- receptionists are bilingual and extremely helpful - location can’t be any better - drinking water supply was very helpful. On the other hand, the lack of tooth brush or paste supply, even upon request, is a little unhelpful even on grounds of reducing plastic use. - Breakfast at the ground level restaurant is okay, but it would be nicer if there was a greater range of options available in the menu.

I will definitely stay here again in Sotetsu when I return to Taipei. It’s rare to find a reasonably-priced spacious room in Taipei with a big window. The hotel was kind enough to accommodate our request to have a room below 10th floor so our view will not be blocked due to security reasons. The location is also a winner, it’s beside the MRT exit and near a few bus stations. The room utilizes IoT or internet of things so I can switch off all of the lights with just a button or by asking the AI. I can request the AI to play music or whatnot. The bedside also has charging ports for gadgets. My husband and I love the tea and drip coffee provided. The room has a lot of storage space for our luggages and clothes. The whole room’s design was well thought of. The hotel staff are friendly. The room is cleaned every day. They also provide sleepwear but I am not sure if they have larger sizes. A few notes: I just wish they would provide soap for the toilet area. I wish there was a water dispenser in the hallway, unfortunately unlike their japan hotel counterparts, the water from tap isn’t potable. There isn’t any iron board in the room but that can be loaned. Overall, I can’t recommend this enough. This is one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed at.
