Hotel Golden House

This is great place not because rooms are spacious and food is great, but because of people who make you feel like home. I will recommend this place to everyone who visits Craiova and will be back myself for sure.

A peaceful rest. The staff was kind and helpful, and with perfect English! There is parking just 50m or less from the entrance. The room was large, clean, and quiet, with breakfast until 10am and checkout at 12pm. The building is just gorgeous, both inside and out, with plenty of space to relax and have a drink inside at the bar (with pool table) as well as at the outside terrace or bar. We had our dog with us so also appreciated the park across the street. Tasty and affordable restaurants are also nearby (of note, L'Assassin just a couple minutes walk away). The only challenge, marked with 4 stars instead of 5, is due to having to drive so much into the city. At night it wasn't a big problem, but during the morning/day, at least for those who aren't used to driving in Romania, it can be a bit intense leaving the city. Overall, highly recommended from an American living in Germany who's a frequent traveler to Romania

Big room, plenty of space. Really clean and well kept bathroom. Diverse breakfast, swedish style. Really good placement, close to the city centre, 15-20 minutes walking distance. The staff was nice and helpful. The only downside was the balcony setup, not really child friendly. This is a place we'll come back to next time.
