Truly stunning location where you feel the luxury of staying in a fantastic castle. Superb Views. Swimming pool idyllic. Staff super friendly. Room lovely. So it’s a mystery why the food is so dreadful. I’m talking microwave pre made food level. Tasteless. It’s a regular issue raised in many reviews but it still hasn’t been addressed by the Parador management. So I do recommend staying here as it’s fabulous but bring a sandwich.
An amazing location on the mountain ridge overlooking the town. Originally the site of three castles. The most recent remains as a visitor attraction and the earlier two were used in the construction of the Parador. The menu is amazing and the pastry chef exceptional. Lovely pool and surrounding garden. Parking is adjacent.
The view from Parador de Jaén is absolutely breathtaking, and the atmosphere of the historic castle setting is truly one of a kind. The rooms are comfortable and well-maintained, making for a memorable stay. However, I was disappointed by the restaurant - the food was overpriced and mediocre at best. While I highly recommend staying here for the scenery and ambiance, I would suggest skipping the restaurant and exploring dining options elsewhere in Jaén.
