Room was a little noisy since it was on the street side. Other than that it was a nice room, with some very minor quirks (a loose floor tile, shower drain a bit slow). We didn’t really use the rooftop because it’s a bit windy, and we didn’t see anyone else up there. The staff was friendly and we loved the neighborhood and its local bars/cafes/restaurants.
The hotel is very beautiful and the food on the menu is delicious - recommend the burrata salad. Located at the beginning of La Vegueta which is an all walking area with many restaurants, bars, shops, landmarks, and things to do. You will also find the Cathedral and Christopher Columbus’ house walking distance. On the downside, this hotel is a bit too noisy to my taste, due to being located on a main road - you can hear everything from the outside. Needs maintenance improvement in the rooms. Nothing to worry about but keeping a better eye on the details would certainly enhance the state of things. During my stay, another customer complained about the noise coming from the downstairs restaurant, keep in mind it was past 11pm and there are signs in every floor (even inside the elevator) saying to respect the silence in the hotel. And I did notice that it was not well handled. It almost seemed like the employee didn’t realize it was past 11pm and the customers in the restaurant were being too loud.
Unfortunately, our stay at this hotel severely impacted what should have been a joyful honeymoon. We encountered several major issues that made our experience distressing from the start. • Upon arrival, we noticed a foul odor in our room, which persisted despite our request for cleaning. It turned out the smell was coming from the toilet sewers, making our stay uncomfortable. • The worst incident happened in the dining area, where a horrendous smell from the kitchen made me physically ill. When I checked the kitchen, I found it in a shocking state, with rotten food left out and pans with decaying food on the stovetop. This entire experience has been extremely disappointing and ruined what should have been a special trip for us. I hope the management addresses these issues promptly to prevent future guests from enduring the same.
