Hospedium Hotel Cortijo Santa Cruz

We went back to the hotel for a second time . We really like the spacious rooms, the beds and all the facilities . The restaurant is also highly recommended for dinner parties

Good place to stay for touring Extremadura. For me one of the most beautiful parts of central Spain with castles, lakes, wildlife, great food, friendly people etc! I stayed in October and would stay there again. It doesn’t quite meet the overall quality of the Paradors in Spain but comes close. The dinner was extremely good and the chef a clearly very special one. Cooking a steak well is a real skill and my hopes were raised when I was not asked how I wanted it cooked! The chef knows best and my word what a steak! I had the same main course both nights I stayed. I could imagine choosing to host a function at the hotel just because the chef is a super one. So the dinner was better than I have eaten at Paradors but there is no all day bar where you can order a sandwich. So you have to wait for dinner, which can be difficult for us English some times! Worth the wait though Great views of the local castle and well positioned for touring

Rooms are huge and the old look is beautiful but has a column of air direct to the room where lots of mosquitoes enter. The check-in and check-out staff were friendly, but we were disappointed with the breakfast. I decided to include breakfast thinking it would be normal but when we arrived there was little on offer and they told us that we only had access to the minimum breakfast (1 bread, 1 butter and a hot drink), later I went to review the reservation I made on booking and it is not mentioned anywhere that it was the minimum breakfast. We were deceived in this aspect Location is great, next to the main road.
