Story Hotel Signalfabriken in Stockholm is a hidden gem! Conveniently located with easy access to the city center via the tube, it offers a stylish and clean stay. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful, making the experience even more enjoyable. Perfect for a comfortable and well-connected visit to Stockholm.

Extremely cute hotel that is unfairly lowly rated on here. Steps from a well-connected tram and metro stop in a cool repurposed industrialized area with a supermarket open late and many restaurants nearby. Warm inviting lobby with friendly check-in. Cool music theme and somewhat industrial studio vibe in the rooms and hallways. Spacious for Europe and very clean with lots of towels and very nice toiletries. Plus complimentary sparkling water and fridge. Not your typical stingy European hotel. and best of all it’s category one for points with Hyatt… can’t beat it!

Hotel is located in the middle-class neighborhood, a short walk to Metro station that delivers you to Stockholm Central Station in about 15 minutes. The hotel is located in two, adjacent mid-20th century buildings that don’t exactly align (that’s part of the funky ethos of JDV Hotels by Hyatt), necessitating stairs to walk from one building to the other— with the main building having higher ceilings. Our room was in the rear building, with lower ceilings. Among the hotel’s more interesting features is a refurbished, retro elevator that is open to the stairwell ascending around it. It’s been modernize with buttons; more interesting than a typical, fully-enclosed, modern elevator. Our room was very compact; with large windows that look-out upon a pleasant, quiet alleyway; no closets; and very little room for storage. But it suited us OK. The breakfast was nice, but unremarkable. I found the staff helpful and fairly friendly. One disappointing aspect was my use of an iron and ironing board for clothes. There’s none in the room. You have to phone down for it. Twice did, and it arrived quickly. But, I have to say it was the cheapest clothes iron I have ever seen. Something you would expect to find at a dollar store. It did not even have a receptacle for water for steam. It makes one wonder how much cost cutting can a hotel inflict upon their guest… a practice much more comment in the states than in Europe.
