We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights with family. The rooms are a bit small, yet all amenities were available. The breakfast was super crowded daily with limited options available. The location is perfect for shoppers since you can walk to nearby malls and centers. The staff were very polite and friendly. Prices are average.
I’m currently traveling for a full year, in mostly all IHG hotels, many of which are holiday inn expresses. I love holiday inns for their comfy clean rooms, laundry rooms, gym, and free breakfasts. I felt this hotel missed the mark in a few ways. The good: the bed was comfy and the air conditioning in the rooms worked really well (it was extremely hot while I was in Bangkok). Staff was generally friendly and helpful The bad: the location- I felt it took forever to get to anywhere I wanted to go due to heavy traffic right outside the hotel (overall the location seems to be central though). The baseboards and carpets in the rooms are dirty. I found multiple hairs in the breakfast food my first day, so I never ate the free breakfast as I was super grossed out (although there are several great coffee and breakfast options very close walking distance). The gym is fine, but nothing special and not as advertised in photos. The elevators took forever (factor in an extra 5-10 minutes to just wait for the elevator to get to your floor and an extra 5 if there is more than person in the elevator with you). Lastly, the laundry- there is only one setting for the washer and dryer EXTREMELY LAVA HOT. The water in the washer is set to 40 C (over 100 degree Fahrenheit, with no way to change it). The shower barely gets above lukewarm so this makes no sense. Some of my clothes were ruined in the washer due to the high temperature which really upset me For $60 a night in Thailand this hotel could have done better on multiple fronts, I personally would never recommend this hotel to anyone.
This was my second time booking this hotel because I truly loved it during my first stay. Unfortunately, this visit was disappointing because of one staff member, Rita. Her attitude was unfriendly and unprofessional. She ignored me twice even after I had been waiting, and she seemed to be trying to create problems out of nothing — even getting involved in an issue with the woman I had booked a bus with, which had nothing to do with her. On top of that, I had paid for a late checkout until 4 PM, but when I requested housekeeping around 9 AM, they refused to clean my room until I had argued that I had paid for the room and its services through 4 PM, so I expected basic service like cleaning to still be available. It’s a shame because the hotel itself is great, but interactions like this make me question whether I’d want to return.
