The hotel is beautiful, with beautiful decor and very nice staff. The complimentary bourbon tasting was very nice, and the adjacent Cruise Room is a very special speaker-easy style bar with gorgeous aesthetic. The continental breakfast was great too. The mattresses are a little soft but otherwise the bedrooms were also nice. All in all, the location and everything was wonderful. We will definitely come back.
This review is for Allison B (Catering/Events). We saw many many different downtown venues for our wedding and this was our favorite experience as far as service. Allison was incredibly responsive and flexible. She went out of her way to find a tour time that worked for us and allowed us to schedule other last minute tours. She answered questions quickly, wasn't pushy, and was incredibly professional. We ended up choosing another venue that was more within our budget, but she nearly caused us to rethink our budget and book Oxford just because of how great she was. Hopeful management knows what an asset she is.
We stayed here for proximity to mile-high stadium event & light rail to/from airport (no car or parking needed) at end of a longer stay in the mountains. We spend 40 to 50 nigths a year in hotels and I appreciated the walkable location, the service & the attention to historic detail at the Oxford. The rooms were spacious and tastefully decorated. But I will say that someone should make a point to upgrade the attention to detail from a user perspective. While not deal-breakers for me, our tub/shower drain lever didn't release water, the spacious bathroom had limited counter space/hooks, we couldn't figure out if the main light switches were connected to anything. I am not sure how/why daily service people could overlook the tub. The quaint historic lobby offers self-serve options but the experience is more snack than breakfast. The standard tank-type coffee/tea with limited additives vs coffee shop was a bit of a let-down. The lobby area is not really set up for eating as it only has antique lounge chairs. I get the ambiance of history but user's should know that it comes at a trade-off to the usual conveniences of a boutique hotel. For the price paid, I am inclined to look around for something more user-friendly next time.
