DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Hotel Detroit Downtown Fort Shelby

Our group stayed for 3 nights at the double queen two room. The room was fantastic for light sleepers as the living room was far away separated from the bedroom. We couldn't get early check in, but Christopher at front desk took great care of us while we waited. Coffee and a relaxing lounge with the game on made the time fly by. We enjoyed our stay very much, being able to walk to all of our downtown destinations easily. The street itself is quiet which is great for sleep. Belinda from the valet service was extremely helpful with local suggestions. We will absolutely be back again. Thank you for the lovely stay.

My family stayed here for a night while passing through. I booked the two queen bed corner suite and it had good room for a family of four. The room had two queen beds, a sofa bed, two TVs, a refrigerator (kept drinks pretty cool), and a microwave. The beds and pillows were ok. The shower had very good water pressure and the water got really hot. The thermostat in the room was able to get the room down to 66 degrees. The exercise room had lots of good equipment and machines. The self-service parking was across the street, which was nice. If you want to do some shipping, you will have about a 15 minute walk.

When I checked in the staff was very friendly and gave me warm cookies which was a great touch. The room was clean and spacious, however the sink drain needs to be snaked out. There were some towels left in the hallways and it doesn’t look like they vacuum very often. They also left complimentary waters in the room. Overall I would say it’s in a good location next to the convention center. No issues with the staff or the hotel. Just could be a little bit cleaner.
