We loved our time at The Squire. The location is perfect and setting beyond what we could have imagined. I wish we would have had more time to spend there to enjoy all the amenities. The staff was attentive and friendly. Beware, breakfast is $20/person if not included in your room price. It was a good offering, just didn’t know the price ahead of time. We loved our time playing games and relaxing at the bar. It was truly a wonderful time. We also rented e-bikes from the resort to take to the Grand Canyon. This was a fantastic way to see sights many don’t. Bennett was helpful and encouraging in his instruction time laying out the perfect 4 hour tour, tho we could have used a bit longer, because apparently we dawdle. My tip, wear sunscreen!
Check-in was smooth and efficient, with a clear explanation of available amenities. The Squire Pub met expectations—staff were welcoming and the food quality was satisfactory. We ordered the meat lovers pizza. The buffet breakfast exceeded expectations, offering excellent quality and value. Fresh fruit. Cooked eggs and breakfast meat. Juices and coffee. The property’s location is ideal—just minutes from the Grand Canyon. Amenities were outstanding, including multiple dining options, a bowling alley, and beautifully maintained outdoor spaces. This resort offers exceptional value and comes highly recommended. While the rooms are somewhat dated in style, they were exceptionally clean and very comfortable—an excellent value overall.
Disappointing experience – cleanliness and security issues We were very let down by our stay at the Holiday Inn Resort – The Squire at Grand Canyon. The entire place felt unclean and poorly maintained. The hallway carpets were filthy, covered in stains, and felt sticky underfoot—they clearly hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. Our room was no better, with dirty floors and a general lack of upkeep. Even worse, the doors to our building were broken, meaning anyone could walk in without a key card. That’s a serious security concern, especially for a hotel near a major tourist destination. While there are a few on-site dining options, one restaurant was extremely overpriced for the quality, and at the Squire Club, it took over an hour just to receive our food. Definitely not what we expected from an IHG-branded resort. The location is convenient for Grand Canyon access, but sadly, that’s about the only positive. Would not recommend staying here until major improvements are made.
